My work balances elements of representation and abstraction in order to examine the relationship between honesty and memory, which is itself both fact and fiction.

These drawings and paintings are my own pursuit of truth telling and are thus deeply informed by my interpersonal connections, my surroundings in the American south, and my womanhood. Still, each piece toes the line of specificity and ambiguity, allowing room for speculation and connection.

In my own way, I am trying to lay all of this out as clearly as possible.
